Uma Sudhir is a veteran Indian broadcast journalist based in Hyderabad, known for nearly three decades as the face and voice of south India for NDTV, where she rose to Executive Editor before wrapping up a 27-year run at the network. She now serves as Consulting Editor at DeKoder (founded by Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy), reporting on ground-level political and social developments across states like Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Career Highlights
Her career began after training at the Times School of Journalism in New Delhi under Professor Thomas Oommen. She spent most of her award-winning career at NDTV, based out of Hyderabad, covering south India as an on-the-ground field reporter rather than moving to desk roles.
